Typhoon Dolphin made landfall near Yuhuan City in Zhejiang with winds exceeding 150 kmph.
Nearly 1,400 flights at Shanghai’s two main airports were cancelled, while hundreds of additional services were disrupted in Zhejiang.
Authorities suspended transport and other services in affected areas as the storm moved inland.
The cancellations underline the scale of disruption caused by the typhoon across one of China’s most densely populated and economically important regions.
